The Philippine-Australian Alumni Association, Inc. (PA3i) - Northern Mindanao Chapter and PA3i - Misamis Occidental Chapter will convene a Climate Change Forum on 28-29 May 2010 at the Camiguin Island Resorts, Inc., Mambajao, Camiguin.
The objectives of the Forum are:
- to focus on the advocacy Role of PA3i and its Multi-Partners in Mitigating the Dire and Threatening Impact of Climate Change: at Home, in Communities, in Schools, and in Workplaces thru knowledge-skills sharing and the conduct of workshops; and
- to introduce Disaster Risk Management (as part of Climate Change Preparedness) for Mainstreaming in the 2010-2012 PA3i National Board and Chapter Strategic Planning that will enable members to share their demonstrated best practices on knowledge-skills transfers (in coordination with its multi-level and multi-sectoral partners).
The PA3i is an umbrella organization for scholars and graduates of formal degree and training programs offered by Australian universities and training institutions, It was incorporated' as a non-stock and non-profit organization duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 9 January 2001. It aims to promote long lasting relationships among people who have benefited from development projects of Australian institutions in the Philippines. To ensure the success of the PA3i Mindanao Forum, all PA3i officers and members and their partners (Mindanao regional line agenCies, state universities and colleges,and local government units) are enjoined to actively participate in the said Climate Change Forum.
